As I am a brand spanking new blogger anything I can get involved in I am more than willing to do. So when I was tagged to do The Christmas Tag by Ciara from The Ciara Chronicles I jumped at the chance. Sadly I’m not feeling very festive so far this season. I had a Christmas feeling back in November, think that’s where my problem lies, start feeling Christmasy too early and by Christmas it’s gone ha. I’m trying though guys I’m trying.
1. What is your favourite Christmas movie/movies?
Ah here, it’s probably easier to name which I don’t like. I think my all time favourites though are The Santa Clause and Love Actually, it’s what I’ll watch when I want to feel Christmasy. I do love the old Santa movie, Santa Clause The Movie. And of course Elf, it’s the most quotable movie there is ‘the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for those to hear’. Any of the Christmas Carols I love, especially the Jim Carrey version, except that candle….he gives me the willies he’s so creepy. And Miracle on 34th Street, Jingle All The Way, Home Alone 1&2…..yeah I love them all.
2. Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day?
I do open one present on Christmas Eve, just because my Mam asks do I want to and it’s hard to say no. She always gives me the smallest, thinking ‘ah it’s only little’, but it always turns out to be the best. Other than that it’s Christmas morning of course.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I don’t have one favourite in particular but remember Christmas mornings in general when I was younger. I have quite a big family, 7 brothers and then little old me. So I can just remember coming downstairs to mountains of presents. We each had our own space we chose where we wanted our presents placed. There’s nothing like Christmas when you have such a big family, toys EVERYWHERE.
God, I’m such a picky eater there’s not a lot I eat, but I love turkey. Turkey and chicken are like the only meats I eat so at Chritmas I’ll look for extra portions.
4. Favourite Christmas gifts?
My favourite presents have come from my boyfriend Johnny, that boy brings the goods. 3 years ago I got piles of new MAC make up I was so happy. 2years ago my laptop broke and he got me a lovely new one, I cried, new laptop with other little gifts. Then last years present topped everything. Along with a rose gold GHD he got us a trip to Amsterdam. Funny thing was I was getting him the same present 🙈 what were the chances. But yeah, Amsterdam had to of been the best present yet, he’s a good egg.
Has to be the smell of a real Christmas tree. Annoyingly we don’t have a real one in my house. But when I walk past suppliers of trees ..ahhhhh it’s so good.
7. Have you any Christmas Eve traditions?
Well, every year for the last 7years I’ve worked Christmas Eve, this year will be the first year I won’t be working. I literally have no idea how to handle that. Christmas night tradition though is feet up, new jammies, Christmas movies and plenty of Miller at hand.
It’s always been an angel. I have no preference though.
9. As a kid, what was the one extravagent gift you asked for but never got?
To be honest, I don’t think I asked for anything major. I’m super lucky to come from a big family and to still have gotten everything we asked for at Christmas. My parents made sure we had a special Christmas, for that I’m grateful. Hon Elle and Bryan 👊
10. What’s the best part of Christmas for you?
As cheesy as it is, I do love seeing all the family. I have two nieces, 12 and 15months, there’s nothing like Christmas when you have children around, they just make it all the more special. I best round this up I’m starting to make myself vomit from the cringe 😂
Thanks for the tag Ciara, I tag anyone who hasn’t been tagged ha.
