So as a fashion blogger, and just someone in general who loves fashion and styling, it’s also part of the package to follow trends. I love high end fashion and seeing catwalks, wondering which trends will hit the high streets. Flipping through the pages of Vogue is one of my favourite past times…Jesus, I sound do fashion pretentious.
It’s so easy to get sucked into it, wanting to buy all the trends coming in. In saying that, I do like some trends and would obviously only buy the ones I liked and not just all of them to be a complete fashion whore…that’s not how I do things.
I’m finding lately that I’m just so sick of all these trends and fashion fads. If I see one more ruffle or embroidered shirt my eyes will literally role to the back of my head. Part of me thinks maybe I’m like this also from working in Penneys. So I see these things everyday which makes me sick of them pretty quickly.
Not just that though but I just don’t think you can get enough wear out of them. Ok, this isn’t the case for all I know, but some trends are a bit far out there which doesn’t give them a lot of ‘shelf life‘. I’m sick of buying clothes and finding them hard to wear because they’re ‘so last season’. I really noticed this when I did a clear out at home and saw so much trend pieces I had and thought ‘why did I even like this, this is not me now’. It’s such a waste.
So as much as I’m enjoying some trends right now I’m trying to ignoring them (as much as I’m loving frill hem trousers) Call me a shit blogger all you like for doing this but I’d rather invest money into something I can get years out of.

Which is another reason I’m a huge advocate for buying vintage and second hand. Everything’s timeless. Totally unique and which can really let your personality shine, instead of being a fashion clone. You can read more about my opinion on vintage here.
I’d love to know your opinion,as I know it can be a controversial topic…a fashion blogger steering clear of trends, what’s the world coming to?
